Bilbao Ekintza, E.P.E.L. is committed to making this website accessible in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September, on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of the public sector.
This accessibility statement applies to the website matchbilbaobizkaia.eus.
The site is developed following the guidelines of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The standing commitment of Bilbao Ekintza is to hold the whole of its content to level double-A, the most demanding of the WAI accessibility levels in general use.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with Royal Decree 1112/2018, in accordance with standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1 and the WCAG 2.1 success criteria at level AA, owing to the exceptions and the lack of conformity in the points listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:
- The destination brochures. They are displayed through an external viewer (Issuu) and consist of page images of printed documents, so their text cannot be read by a screen reader or enlarged without loss of quality. Every brochure has a title and a description on the page itself, and the organising team can supply the contents of any of them in an accessible format on request.
- The videos. The player is supplied by an external service (YouTube) and is outside our control. The recordings may not have captions or an audio description.
- Exhibitor logos. These are supplied by the participating companies through the event platform. Each one carries the company name as its text alternative, but the images themselves are not under our control and their quality and contrast vary.
- The event platform. Registration, profiles and meeting agendas take place on a third-party platform, which is a separate website with its own accessibility statement.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 21 September 2026.
The method used was a self-assessment carried out by the organisation, combining manual review with the Web Accessibility Test (TAW), which is the method Bilbao Ekintza applies across its sites. The dynamic nature of this website — the exhibitor directory fills up as companies register — calls for that review to be repeated rather than done once.

What has been taken into account when building this site
Without prejudice to the statement above, the following has been part of the making of this website:
- A skip link at the top of every page, so that a keyboard user can jump straight to the content.
- Headings in order, so the structure of each page can be navigated with a screen reader.
- Text alternatives on images that carry information, and none on the decorative ones.
- Everything that can be operated with a mouse can be operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Text that reflows and remains readable on a phone, without horizontal scrolling.
- Animations that stop for anyone who has asked their system to reduce motion.
- The legal pages and the platform notice are plain HTML and can be read with JavaScript unavailable. The front page needs it in order to show the programme, the exhibitor directory and the brochures; without it, a fallback gives the dates, how to register and how to reach us.
- No cookie banner, because the site sets no cookies — one fewer obstacle between the visitor and the content.
